Garfield Park Conservatory

The Garfield Park Conservatory is an amazing greenhouse in one of Chicago's roughest neighborhoods. Directly across the street is a technical high school and a row of buildings that, in their heyday, were opulent, but are currently gutted by fire or falling apart from neglect. In the midst of all this, the conservatory is an oasis. Free to enter, it will occupy your mind and every other sense once you step in. D70. Chicago.

The Chiditarod is a shopping cart race that also incorporates a food drive. Each team must show up at the finish line with at least 15 pounds of canned food to contribute. This team looks ready to send ye to Davy Jones's Pantry. D70. Chicago.
